Year of My Life – Breakfast Orientation

Wow! Everyone here is on FIRE for God! I thought I was expected and excited about entering into this new season at Hillsong – but I was literally OVERWHELMED by the energy, love, excitement, and anticapation from ALL the interns for this new year!

The orientation was led by the internship pastor and we were introduced to the department heads for each department. From Hillsong Africa Foundation (HAF), youth, kids, communications, production, creative, pastoral care, frontline, events, powerhouse, to worship and creative arts. These were the departments that you could be assigned with during the year. There were also several other interns from last year sharing there experiences from last year, as well as giving us insight and encouragement for this following year.

None of us knew which department we would be interning for until that day – however the Lord told me that I would be interning for HAF before I applied, so I was already expecant and excited for that departement – however, I would have been grateful for any place I was allocated. We were given our department allocations after settling in and sure and behold I got the Africa Foundation. Yayy! Out of approximately 40 interns, seven were chosen for the Africa Foundation and the rest were split into the other departments. We then had breakfast with the CEO of the Foundation. He touched lightly on a few of the projects that we would be getting involved in. We prayed, ate good food, then briefly spoke about our journeys that brought us here.

As each intern spoke, I could feel the deep love and passion for God that each of them had for serving in His house, as well as following His plan for there lives. It really amazes me.. the faith.. genuine love.. pure hearts.. and devotion that EACH of these interns have for the Lord. While we were doing introductions some said that they came because “God told me.” The boldness that these interns have is comforting and encouraging because thats why I came here as well. Each of my HAF intern team came from a different country – Brazil, Sydney, Germany, Zimbabwe as well as two Capetonian locals. I love how God put us all together – people who are like minded, have a passion for serving, building His house, and are not afraid to “GO” whenever and wherever He calls us! I know that God has a purpose and a plan for each of us here this year, and I am so grateful to be doing this internship with them.

The internship orientation made me even more excited to start the program. I’m looking forward to receiving the schedule they have prepared for us. I know we will be working hard and some days will be stretching and intense – however I see it as I am working for the Lord. Each project I will take with excellency and care as if I was working for Him. God can use me as much as He wants. Thats what I am here for. To serve. To learn. To grow. To be more like Christ.

1 Samuel 12:24 “Above all, fear the Lord and faithfully serve Him with all your heart; consider what great things He has done for you.”

Love,

Juliette
