On Tuesday morning, Jad came to sit and speak with us in the staff meeting. He spoke on how he volunteered for several years at the Hillsong campus in Sydney. He was sharing how his sacrifice and obedience all led to where he was now, encouraging us to give our all, and not to become familiar to what is going on around us — because this is not normal. What we are doing.. what we are learning.. what we are being exposed to.. should never be taken lightly or thought of for granted. We should be taking everything in and using it all beyond what is expected of us. His words were on time because I was starting to become familiar, but we should go in each day as if its our first time here, because once you start getting familiar, you will then start to lose your passion and become average in the things you do.
I never want to get tired or frustrated with being here. Please pray that I will never come close to becoming familiar again. It is such a blessing to be here, and I want to be here – in the moment, and I don’t want to take it for granted, like I deserved it or something, but that it is 100% a gift from God. Pray that I get a better revelation of His character, who He is, who He wants me to be, and His purposes for me in Cape Town. Pray that I am continuously available to his call, and passionate about giving my all to serve Him. I know this year is going to be above and beyond, and I am so grateful God used him to give us that wake up call.
