Spending time with God and Frontline worship night

Tuesday, we had a frontline worship & vision night at church. Frontline is the 25-35+ ministry at Hillsong. The worship was insane and Ilze (frontline coordinater) preached a powerful word on the journey of trusting God. There was also a panel discussion of what will be happening this year across frontline including – gatherings, events, and socials.

I also won a giveaway which was a dvd from Andy Stanley on when God feels distant. It was perfect for me because I have been feeling that way lately. You would think ok, so I work at a church and do ministry daily, I would just be filled with the Holy Spirit all the time. While it is great to be working in this environment – I feel that you have to spend twice as much time with God because you are always being pulled in many directions and giving out so much spiritually, it is vital to spend time with God. I have not been spending as much time as I need to thats why I have been feeling God has been distant. Winning this dvd was the perfect wake – up call and reminder that I desperately needed.

I found a work study in my accommodation that I have been going to. It has been there a few weeks, but its crazy how God just revealed it to me now. When I seek a quiet area to spend time with Him, He opens up a door and shows me a way. Going to this study room has really helped me to sit back and reflect on my day and worship God. I play worship music to set the atmosphere and write out my prayers to God. I don’t have the best handwriting, so I type them on my laptop. I love the aspect of writing out your prayers because you can look back at them and see how God has been moving in your life. It also builds my confidence in praying because I am able to get all my thoughts on paper and sit down and reflect on it. I then speak out my prayers to God. I believe that there is power in speaking. God said “let there be light.” He didn’t write it down. Also, when I pray to Him, I don’t just say “Amen” and go onto the next thing, I sit and wait for Him to speak to me.. to respond.. to speak into my spirit. Praying is not a monologue, it’s a dialogue. And that is how we develop our relationship with Him. I also read my Bible. I have the Life Application Study Bible, NLT. I love this Bible because it really breaks down the scriptures and gives you examples on how to apply it to your life. Doing this consistently develops a more intimate relationship with Christ, and it is making a huge difference in my days.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something.
I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is magnificent blog.
A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each
time a comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove me from that service?
    Many thanks!
