This is how I roll – My transport in Cape Town!

Internship days are long days for me. Its not as light weight as you think. Its like we are working a full time job. I wake up at 5 am to spend time with God, then 6 am to get dressed, 7 am breakfast, then by 7:45 am I am out the door! That is my ideal schedule, but sometimes it is altered based on the time I get up, but I try my best to stick to it!

I do not have a car in Cape Town so I take public transportation everywhere. I don’t mind taking public transportation, but sometimes it takes me up to one hour to get to work everyday. I take two mini taxis to get there. A mini taxi is equivalent to a mivi van in the states, then it is filled with up to 19 people or more. Many people say they do not feel safe taking public transport but I have not had a problem or felt threatend in any way. The mini taxi is 8 rands (80c) each leg and can go up to 10 rands (1usd) in the evening, depending on where you are going. The last taxi generally runs around 6 pm because it is not safe to ride at night.

My internship day ends at 5 pm but there is always something going on whether it be dance practice ( I just started last week :)), shine course, or a leadership training – you can easily be here until 9pm. More often than not, that is the case. But God still provides and has my back! I have always had a ride when I have stayed late at church. And its not like I had to tackle people down or ask and ask until I found someone, I just ask one or two people and 9 times out of 10 it will be one of them; one time there was a person that was not even going in my direction who gladly gave me a lift home. I think God has graced me with the lift anointing.

Since day one, God has had my back transportation wise. Before stepping out to take the bus to go to the orientation breakfast, the manager of my accomadation voluntarily gave me a ride to church. Then when it was over, a few interns showed me around and voluntarily went out there way to show me how to use the bus as well as other alternatives and routes. They treated me as if I was there family. They were genuinly concerned about my safety and well being, and took on my transportation issues as there own! I am seriously blown away by the love and community here. God is truly gracing my paths and ordering my steps, even in the smallest things.

I have been taking each day one day at a time. Although I just moved here I am not flustered, I feel Gods presence everywhere I go. I know He will provide. Gods promises us grace and provision for each day. Our steps are ordered (Psalm 37:23). I am surrendering and giving God complete control of my schedule, activities, and times. I’m just going with the flow, and you know what – its so peaceful!

Phillippians 4:6-7 – “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your heart and mind as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Love,

Juliette

Link exchange is certainly not else however it really is only placing one other person’s blog link on your page at appropriate place and other person will even do similar in support of you.
